Audio-Flash Hypeframe- Project 1

Audio HypeFrame Works

Here's the link to the video that was the audio track for my audio hype frame work projects. The track is called "Alive" by the artist, Krewella.

This audio project used the directional vibration and fixed vibration on the circle. The track is dance music which is hyper and fun so I used a bright pink and increased the brightness and changed the blending mode to multiply. The colours of the circle were of a colour pool of the bright colours that I used from the Kuler application from the Kensington market graffiti photo below.

Colour Palette used from this Photo

The directional vibration was used on the y axis to move the circles randomly on the y axis position. The fixed vibration was used to rotate, scale, alpha, and to move on the x-axis. The text changes in scale. The circles and text convey the mood of hyper and energy which fits the theme of being alive and give a psychedelic experience when you feel you're on top of the world and living from your soul.

Screen shot of Movie Clip

The movie clip was edited by changing the outline of the stroke to make it stippled to make the circles seem to burst into miniature sizes.

Text-Feel Alive

The text is fixed vibration and changes in scale to give a pulsing beat and emphasis that feel alive vibe. The text was edited to have a blur filter which was an inner shadow of orange and the font style is Impact which gives a bold look and contrasts from the circles. The text rotates 360% to give a spinning look and that it's out of control.

This is the link to the video:

Screen Shot 01

This is the screen shot of the swf file. The circles change in size and move randomly very quickly across the screen and overwhelm the space. The circles still give a pulsing vibe and rotates randomly also.

Begin of Track-Tempo increases slowly
Octaves are at Maximum-Circles scale in size

These screen shots are  showing that the circles enlarge in size and alpha in scale and alpha tracker. The higher the notes which would be the maximum frequency  of the octave would make the circles scale larger and scale down when it was lower frequency in octave. The sine wave would change in rotation and position and y and x position for the oscillator sine wave on the frequency of the note. The circles makes you lost as you see the illusion of layer and depth of smaller circles in the larger ones. This was more successful to give an organic movement and feeling by having the circle and text respond to the audio than manipulating and editing the images to convey a mood.

Screen shot of Sound Analyzer- Oscillator

The font is from the Harry Potter movie fonts. I placed it in the middle to show that this is Hogwarts. I also embedded decorative fonts that were musical notes to show the soundtrack that's used is usually the scene of the opening scene of Hogwarts and fits the flying car. I decreased the threshold of the bitmap trace to show the details of the castle and to show that the flying car which Harry and Ron uses to fly to the school when they miss the train. The image enlarges at high octave notes and gives a psychedelic experience as the car travels through the sky and heading towards Hogwarts. The colour palette is used from the scene of the Hogwarts school and gives the mystery feel to the scene.

WHITE WINE LABEL DESIGN

Colour palette for White Wine Label Design
http://www.molotow.com/magazine/blog/wp-content/blogs.dir/1/files/solidgoldgish/sgf2.jpg
(artist's blog)

I used the Kuler application to choose the hues of the tan, olive, and red to create my white wine label design. I wanted my white wine label to convey relaxation, classy, and elegance.

Simple Ballistic Hypeframe

The colour palette was hues of red, tan, and olive green. The colours still give a fun, carefree, and elegant style. The hype frame that was used was simple ballistic, but I changed the rotation value for the gravity angle, the size of the target object for the second set of simple ballistic, increased the drag, and minimum force, and maximum force with less gravity to give the illusion that the circles are spilling downwards and faster speed. The smaller circles are to give the illusion of fizz of the bubbles that are bursting into the air.

White Wine Label Design

The bubbles are escaping from the wine glass to give a carefree and fun. However the wine is contained and the bubbles are floating slowly. The motion of the white wine poured into the wine glass is smooth and slow. The white wine is supposed to be for elegant occasions such as anniversary that you sip it slowly and enjoy it. The tan background harmonizes with the bubbles and yet contrasts with the olive green of the bubbles.

Final White Wine Label Design

The colour of the bottle is tan which unifies with the background of the label. I feel that this wine label design is minimal in colour and simplistic in design, but it contrasts the multi-layered and vibrancy of my red white label design.

(artist's blog)

This image spoke to me because the red is vibrant and the mood is energetic. I liked the strokes of the lines that were organic and give an atmosphere of flowing and splashing across the canvas. This made me think of red wine splashing into the glass or spilling over the glass and love the vibrancy of the red that will  emphasis the richness of the wine.

The idea for my red wine label was to create a vivacious and energetic mood of red wine. I wanted the wine drinker to feel that energy and feel alive and passion when they drink it. The hype frame that I used was the Simple Ballistic where I changed the values of the trigger points, colour values via colour pool, and size of the points of the ballistic point. There are 2 different ballistic points to show depth and variety and they're triggered randomly. The blobs become lines that stream down and that show that motion of pouring wine in a glass.

Simple Ballistic hypeframe- Wine spillage on the screen

The red wine was to spill over the glass. The spillage is conveying having a good time and that the party doesn't stop since it's spilling over the wine glass. The background is a pink champagne colour that still makes the ballistic points be the focal point and unifies it. The wine is called "Le Vin de Vie", which means the wine of life and the tagline is 'Let's Celebrate'. The red wine is to drink at a party scene. The spillage was created by copying, moving, and pasting the same layer over again that creates the illusion that the wine is spilling over and that each spill is happening at different times.

Label Design for Red Wine

This is the image of the red wine label on the bottle. This was the final design of the red wine. The bottle is a shade of purple to fit in the family of purples and reds. The label is wrapped in the front of the bottle. The bottle was created with the 3D revolve tool in Illustrator and just made the outline of one side of the bottle. The text, spillage and red wine was made into a symbol and then 3D mapped on it. The colour choice for the bottle is to unify the label with the bottle and to give a classy look and a punch of colour also.

Interactive Storytelling and 3D printing- April 4-15, 2013

This video was interesting because it tells us how important it to delve and be apart of the story and
that you decide the life altering changes to make either solely or with other players. It's a reason that it becomes addicting and that we really immerse ourselves. Watching a movie will make you passive where you comment and identify with characters, but it's like you wish why did this happen and wished that something else could have happened.

This video is informative of the changes and direction that 3d printing is going. It was cool that you can make food, make organs with our own blood cells and genetics to replace damaged organs, to even creating 3d form of an ultrasound, and making household objects. It was eye-opening that you can make a 3d print of a mechanism to replace the broken part of that object such as a stroller that would cost less to replace and also how manufacturing will change. It's great that Shapeway (a company) that prints out 3d objects for you at $20 and then help you to sell it.

Interesting Works 4/1/13

Technology using voice command to do jobs for us.

I love the simplicity and repetition. It's watching the creation of life from an embryo to full form. The colours are soothing and it's gradual transitions that make you pay attention to detail and enjoy the subtlety of the size, depth, complexity, and it evolving.

I was thinking of using a dance song named "Alive" by the artist, Krewella to make the text, alive, be small and insignificant to it changing in size and vibrating and pulsing on the screen. I want it to swirl around as a roller coaster.
